Safety and cost is key when installing electrical wires. It is quite common to see a connection that has too much or too little exposed copper wire showing at the wires. There should be enough bare copper wire stripped to wrap entirely around the screw terminal but not so much that excess bare copper wire allows the screw, when tightened, to rest on the insulation instead of the wire itself, whilst too much exposed wire can short out if it touches a metal box or other wires. need to make sure the wire is correctly cut in order not to waste wire and also to make sure that the wire isn’t damaged which could lead to a fault.
